National Fire Prevention Day | Empowering Fire Safety in Petrochemical Industry

2025-12-03
Around November 9th, it coincides with the dry season when fires occur frequently. All parts of the country are stepping up winter fire prevention work. To enhance the public's fire safety awareness and make "119" more deeply rooted in people's minds, the Ministry of Public Security launched the Fire Safety Day in 1992, designating November 9th as the national "Fire Prevention Publicity Day" every year.
November 9th, 2022, marks the 31st National Fire Prevention Day. Due to its special nature, the petrochemical industry is a high-risk sector prone to fires, explosions and other disasters, making fire safety a top priority.
Characteristics of Fire Accidents in Chemical Enterprises
High explosion risk: When a fire breaks out in a chemical enterprise, it often explodes first and then burns, or burns first and then explodes due to various factors. The explosion causes instantaneous damage, deformation or collapse of the building structure with extremely strong destructive power.
Rapid combustion speed: Raw materials and products in chemical production have low boiling points, high volatility, and are flammable and explosive. Once ignited, they burn rapidly and spread extremely fast, often in the form of explosions. Some flammable liquids are fluid and will flow uncontrollably after ignition, leading to the expansion of the fire.
High toxicity: Most chemical raw materials and products are highly corrosive and toxic, and substances produce a large amount of toxic gases during combustion.
Solutions
The report to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposes adhering to the principle of safety first and prevention first, establishing a comprehensive safety and emergency framework, improving the public safety system, and promoting the transformation of the public safety governance model to pre-event prevention. In view of the causes and characteristics of fires in chemical enterprises, only by adopting gas leakage monitoring equipment that can actively monitor with no missed or false alarms can pre-event prevention be achieved more effectively.
Fixed Reflective Laser Gas Telemeter
With the advantages of a monitoring distance of up to 1 kilometer and multi-gas monitoring, the fixed reflective laser gas telemeter can conduct real-time monitoring of petrochemical process device areas.
Networked Monitoring
The monitoring range can reach 1 kilometer. Networking of multiple devices enables real-time monitoring of distribution concentration, moving speed and moving direction.
Preventive Monitoring
Proactively monitors leak risk points with a response time of only 1 second, capable of accurately detecting trace leaks at the ppm level, truly realizing preventive monitoring of gas leaks.
Strong Anti-Interference Ability
Compared with traditional detectors that are easily interfered by environmental factors and cross gases, it has strong anti-interference performance. It adopts fingerprint detection to achieve true zero false alarms.
Multi-Gas Detection
The detectable gas types basically cover all gases required in the petrochemical industry, and it can be compatible with the petrochemical GDS system.
